After Trying it all, Dr. Rich found answers, hope, and transformation with Trainer Joe’s.
He lost 22 pounds during his 21 Day Transformation and has continued to lose weight and experience better health since then.
Here’s his weight loss journey with the help of Trainer Joe’s:
Epiphany
I remember being excited about seeing my professional video interview on “No Drop Cataract
Surgery” debuting on a web‐based segment entitled “Hot Topics”. I was sharing some revolutionary
new information that would reach a national audience of eye care practitioners and knew this was
going to impact how cataract surgery would be managed for many years to come. I remember
receiving the edited version by email before it was about to be released. I was asked to review it and
give final approval.
When I started watching the interview, I was mortified. For me, it no longer mattered how well I
did in delivering the message. It was no longer about the impact this revolutionary technique
would have on our industry. All I could focus on was how morbidly obese I had become. How had I
allowed myself to become this overweight?
I seriously considered telling the producer that we would have to scrap the video. After the shock
wore off, I decided that the message was more important than the messenger, and approved its
release.
Time for a Change!
I had decided that it was time for a change. Not only for my own personal health and well‐being,
but for my credibility as a physician. How on earth could I talk to patients about the need for
getting in shape without coming across as a complete hypocrite?
So I did what many do. I began exercising. I started running, swimming, and biking. I eventually
started doing 5K’s, then half‐marathons, and even did a few open water triathlons. I had lost a fair
amount of weight and was quite proud of my efforts. Eventually, I learned something that you learn
very early on during Trainer Joe’s 21 Day Transformation… “You Can’t Out Run Your Fork”.
Eventually, my knees started hurting, then the back, and eventually, as my commitment to intense
physical exercise waned, the pounds crept back.
Now What?
My self‐esteem had reached an all‐time low when I gained back the 40 lbs I had lost through
exercise. I felt defeated and even worse, I had lost hope that I could effectively “right the ship”. I
became depressed. I would also eventually be diagnosed with hypocholesteremia and severe sleep
apnea. No longer was weight loss important to me from an appearance stand point. It was
necessary if I wanted to live long enough to see my children graduate college and have families of
their own.
I had tried “diets” in the past, eventually failing at each of them. Therefore, in my mind, “diet plans”
were not the answer. As a last ditch effort, I began looking into bariatric surgery. I knew that
bariatric surgery carried with it some risks and no guarantees, but I saw no other way. So I called a
reputable group in my community and scheduled an appointment for their mandatory 4 hour
consultation.
God’s Word
I remember feeling rather uneasy about the idea of bariatric surgery. I decided to spend some time
in prayer and ask God to give me peace, insight and direction into this area of my life. Philippians
4:6 reads “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present your requests to God. So I did. I told God that I was not feeling at peace with
the idea of surgery and to please show me another way. If surgery was his will for my life, please
give me peace over the decision. Either way, I decided to “Let Go, and Let GOD”! Proverbs 3:5‐6
reads “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your
ways, acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
The next day, my wife had come home to tell me that her real estate company had recently offered
a Trainer Joe’s 21‐day transformation program to their agents, and that a number of them had lost a
fair amount of weight. They highly recommended the program and she encouraged me to sign up
for the next one and give this a try before moving forward with surgery. While I was skeptical that
there was a program that would work for me, I agreed to postpone the surgical consultation.
Fast Forward
I was really bummed that I could not attend the last day of my group’s 21‐day program. I was in
South Dakota of all places lecturing to a room full of doctors when my wife text me to tell me that I
was “the biggest loser”. Don’t worry, I knew what she meant. I had lost 22 pounds in 21 days. It is
now 2 months since being introduced to Trainer Joe, and I am now down 45 pounds from where I
started. My cholesterol and sleep apnea have significantly improved, and after hearing so many
compliments about my appearance (ie. Transformation), my self‐esteem has improved
dramatically. But most importantly, I have finally found hope through Trainer Joe’s Nutrition and
Health Program that this is a life‐style change I can happily stick with. I anticipate that one day, Joe
will ask me to give you my 1 year testimonial .
You CAN do it!
Let my testimony mean only one thing if nothing else. No matter what barriers you have
encountered in the past to improving your health; no matter what excuse you have come up with as
to why you can’t lose weight; no matter what stage of life you are in…Trainer Joe’s program can
work for you. All you have to do is “check the boxes” and you can find yourself on a path to a
lifestyle transformation that brings you peace and happiness with who you are. GOD is GOOD!
